The literary work of eminent writer Petra Hůlová is focused on maping apects of social and cultural life in different part of the world. She published novel about Siberia, Mongolia or communistic time in Czechia. She came to Skopje for one month residence to map capital of Macedonia by her literary work. NGO Kontrapunkt organized public reading of Petra Hůlová on 29th of September in Caffe Magor in Skopje to present her literature for Macedonian visitors.

Socio- cultural magazine called RozRazil has become a platform for the Journey Across Europe project. Nothing the passing character of the author sojourns and readings, we have found a way to connect the project authors through publishing their texts in our magazine and thus secure a more “lasting“ character.

The magazine includes essays, articles, gloses and art work of the European authors: an essay by Finish authoress of children tales, text by Patrik Ouředník, whose text called Europeana has fascinated Europe, Polish gay literature author or feminist novelist from Berlin. Kristin Dimitrova with her essay About Childhood or Vladimir Martinovski and his narration about “the ones and the others“.

From July 29th  till July 31st let us invite you to share the space of the Divadlo Husa Na provázku Theatre – there the linking events of Journey Across Europe and Month of Author´s Reading 2011 – guest of honor Poland – shall also hold the second Literary Laboratorium - bringing readings of Central European authors who have travelled to cities of Brno, Košice, Ostrava and Wroclaw to present their literary production. The programme includes special event dedicated to literary reflexions by four different European authors.

Petra Hůlová and the actrice Yasena Gospodinova from Ruse read excerpts of the novel "Strážci občanského dobra" on Monday, 27th June 2011 in Ruse. The reading was held in the hotel "Riga" in Ruse.

Skopje welcomes Sudabeh Mohafez and Martin Kreiner

Sudabeh and Martin have been roaming the streets of Skopje for a week now. Hopefully inspired, they will join us on the newly-discovered platform for writers and poets – the plateau in front of the Youth Cultural Center, on the bank of the river Vardar. The audience will get a chance to hear Sudabeh read her selected material and talk to her, as well as see the photographs of Martin. Wednesday, June 22 at 9pm.

Petra Hůlová in Ruse

The Czech author Petra Hůlová and project participant will be from June 19 to July 15 the guest of the International Elias Canetti Society in Ruse. During a public reading on June 27 she will present excerpts of literary work to the local audience in the Bulgarian Danube city.

Translation workshop, meeting of authors and coordination meeting in Ruse

Nine events, eight authors and a theatre company: The International Elias Canetti Society celebrated the arrival of the spring in Ruse with a literature festival in May. During the Literary Parlour (May 10 - May 18) they organized translation workshops and meetings within the frame of the project „Journey Across Europe“. Coordinators, writers and translators from Germany, the Czech Republic, Macedonia and Bulgaria took part in the events.

The last author travelling Across Europe came to Brno for her residence. Sudabeh Mohafez arrived to our city together with photographer Martin Kreiner for remeasuring (not only) cultural space of Brno city.

Kristin Dimitrova will read excerpts of her work tonight, at the GEM club in the Old bazaar in Skopje. The GEM club is a resurrected space that connects cultural workers, artists and activists to share ideas, projects or beers together. Vladimir Martinovski in the Danube town Ruse – a retrospective

The poet and musician Vladimir Martinovski came in February to Ruse. It seemed that he immediately felt acquainted with the town and its people.

Haibuns, images and sounds – Vladimir Martinovski's reading in Ruse

Haibuns, poems and narratives of Valdimir Martinovski was presented on 12th February in a warm and experimental atmosphere in the Art Gallery „Friends“ in Ruse. As the author Martinovski is an unstoppable trier of different forms of art in poetry, prose and music the presentation of his works was shown in a multimedia framework.

Kristin Dimitrova obtained eminent national Hristo G. Danov book prize award for her novel Sabazius (2008). She will present this novel on her public reading on February 10th at 7.30PM in the Stuttgart´s House of Writers. Vladimir Martinovski in Ruse

The Macedonian writer Vladimir Martinovski stays from February 1 on for three weeks in Ruse/Bulgaria within in the frame of the project "Across Europe". He ist the first of the three "Across Europe" writers who stays as a guest of the  International Elias Canetti Society in Ruse.

Kristin Dimitrova and Michaela Velčková presented aims and goals of the project called “Journey Across Europe“ on Czech Television in programme called “Culture in Regions“. The Czech viewers were informed about the project dramaturgy and participating authors. Both women also reported about the form and objectives of the planned anthology and audiobook. Poetess Kristin Dimitrova talked about her reflexions on the Czech Republic, the city of Brno and mentioned also her plans in regards to the project.

Journey Across Europe with Vladimir Martinovski in Tübingen

Bookstore RosaLux, Stuttgarter Schriftstellerhaus and Department of Slavic studies at Tübingen University invite you on reading of Vladimir Martinovski at 20th of January 2011. Author will present his texts in Bookstore RosaLux at Lange Gasse street in Tübingen. Reading will include not only presentation of author´s poetry and prose but also the lecture about contemporary Macedonian literature, literary scene in Skopje and presentation of different form of literature in Balkan area.

The work of poetess Kristin Dimitrova has not been translated into Czech yet. Nevertheless her reading audience filled the house up to the last place in the "Sklepni scena" of "Husa na provázku" theatre. Even though poetry held the floor that evening, the atmosphere was more amusing than serious. After the reading of more than 25 poems (all translated by Ondřej Zajac), alive discussion followed the event. Besides talking over her process of creating, the authoress admitted that she feels as at home in Brno and that one big difference between her hometown Sophia and Brno is that there are many more blond-haired people in Brno.

Journey Across Europe with Vladimir Martinovski

Centrum for culture and society organizes public reading of Vladimir Martinovski due to his residence in Brno. Reading will take place on 14th of December 2010 at 5,00 pm at Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University. Vladimir Martinovski will present himself as a poet, musician and literary critic. Reading will include presentation of his visual poetry, production of traditional Macedonian music, lecture about contemporary Macedonian literary scene and especially his poetry, prose and experimental form of literature.

"We all live in one city" with Vladimir Martinovski and Dime Mitreski

„We all live in one city“ is a meeting of national minorities living in Brno city. This events have a long tradition and usually take part there folklore group of Bulgarian, Romanian, Greek, Hungarian, German, Polish, French, Ukrainian and Russian minorities. Macedonia is represented by Society of South Slavics (http://www.spjs.cz/) and especially Macedonian music band LIVADA (http://www.livada.cz/). Vladimir Martinovski and Dime Mitreski (Macedonian translator from Czech language) will be a part of LIVADA band on this event and will present there various form of Macedonian traditional music. From July 15th till 20th we invite you to the first Literary Laboratorium of the project called Journey Across Europe and literary festival Month of Author´s Reading. The audience is welcome to visit the readings, meet authors from abroad, participate on discussions and workshop.
